JD Styling Guidelines


Casting

Talent that is dynamic, individualistic and represent change in the category. Celebrate the diversity and variety of the world that inspired trend.

  • Ages 18-25 (Skewing Younger)

  • Sample Size (Mens M-L 11M, Women’s S-M 9W.)

  • Fluidity in appearance (Not too masculine or feminine in gender norms.)

  • Inclusive and diverse in ethnicity and nationality.

  • Unique and striking physical features.

  • Fashion editorial, campaign, or runway experience.

  • Not too muscular or athletic in build.


Product Styling

  • All supplemental products must be nondescript in the look.

  • All supplemental products can only be used as texture to support the key products. 

  • All supplemental products must be color basic - gray, black, white
    (color highlight focus on key item).

  • All supplemental products must be purchased from jdsports.com or a JD store.

  • No customization beyond fit on all products.

  • No mixing of these brands - adidas, Nike, Puma, Jordan, Champion.

  • Accessories and jewelry must be nondescript.


Hair & Makeup

  • Hair and makeup must never compete for visual priority.

  • Do not apply hair & makeup that is deemed as cultural appropriation.


Posing

Capture the emotion and confidence of our models while they create effortless movement of themselves and the product. Utilize the seasons emerging trend to highlight the intersection of sport and fashion.

  • Capture movement of the product through the frame with attention to styling and effortless motion, without looking like literal dancing.

  • Capture the emotion and confidence of our models

  • Garment and model move as one, creating natural flows. 

  • Ensure that brand is identifiable on products

  • Avoid movement considered risqué.


Emerging Trend

Emerging trend is collected, authenticated and interpreted each season. Strict adherence to the following styling rules are essential to bringing our brand and product to market.

Emerging trend also takes hair & makeup to create distinct individuality bespoke for each model as a representation of self-expansion.

Reports are used to guide seasonal execution along with styling guidelines.
